In which Our Heroine makes her escape from the Forces of Evil.

I very deliberately tried to make Leonard look cool on the previous page, only for him to start freaking out the minute Jennifer made her escape. He’s not the real hero. They need the REAL hero. That’s kind of the point of these first two chapters.

I’m still smirking at “blisters or death.” It’s like Jenn honestly isn’t sure which one she wants for just a second before boldly announcing her decision.

Zappy calls Leonard’s penthouse a “sin pit.” I’d had Jennifer calling it that earlier, but since you don’t really get to see anything going on — I assure you, though, it’s REALLY WILD just off-panel — that seemed a bit over-the-top. The comment she has about barely seeing any shirts makes a lot more sense. But “sin pit” seems a lot more apropos coming from a jerk like Zappy, especially seeing how in theory he knows a little more about how things ordinarily go there, despite — as alluded to — being barred from the place for being too, too alien in appearance.
