In which Miss Vanessa Lang fights the robots and is saved by a flying bottle.
Yeah, I changed Vanessa’s hairstyle between what would have been her first full appearance in Chapter 1 and her first actual on-stage appearance. It’s very easy for me to get into a visually uncreative rut, so I figured I’d make Vanessa little more distinctive this way, give her more of a visual hook.
Heck, originally she was just another boring long-haired white girl in a jacket, something that SCWONKEY DOG used to be positively littered with. It was either late in middle school or early in high school that I doodled up her current outfit, with its lemon-lime color scheme that visually ties her to Zappy.
When you take into account the cut of Danielle’s tank top and especially her dress in the first chapter, it’s kind of amazing that I showed some restraint when it comes to the level of Vanessa’s zipper. I know I didn’t in some of the older art I’ve got laying about the house …
