Chapter 2 - Page 27

In which a unique form of verbal self-flagellation is performed.

Progress, Or Something Like It

Ah, done with the first new page of ‘08, despite the fact that I didn’t get to take the trip out to Starbucks to do the coloring like I wanted to. Several pages late in Chapter 1 of Scwonkey Dog were colored and assembled on my laptop over an overpriced cup of cappuccino or two at the local Starbucks, a forty-five minute hike from my house — not a bad hike, either, back in October when the weather was more mild and even sometimes unseasonably warm. But today an arctic breeze whipped back and forth across the City of P-burg, making even the fifteen minute or so walk back home from work nearly unbearable. So, like the rest of Chapter 2 so far, I colored and assembled this page at my parents’ house. Unlike the others, though, I put it together on my shiny new Mac Mini, giving the new computer its first real workout. It passed with flying colors, making me all the more comfortable with the idea of, in about a month’s time, sending the ol’ PowerBook out for repairs to fix the multitudes of problems with it — ranging from major league bad sectors on the hard disk to a case that’s bent out of shape in a couple of awkward spots, like near where the power cord plugs in.

Poor thing. It has accompanied me on many an adventure across the country, and it bears the scars from said ventures … in addition to the time I got mad and punched it the one time when it and the scanner wouldn’t play nice. Not one of my finer moments. Heh.

Started drawing the next one today. Should be up a week from today at the latest. Watch for it!
