In which Our Hero reveals himself.

FIRST APPEARANCE – Scwonkey Elliot Dog (in person)

The Jennifer Johnson identity was originally created when I was in high school, as part of a Scwonkey Dog story (which I don’t think ever made it to full script form) that I was stuffing with every 90’s anime riff I could think of. Obviously this was a sort of Ranma 1/2 gender-change riff. Meanwhile, I had one or two false identity subplots running through Scwonkey Dog that were fairly similar and tedious. Also, I had the problem of where to start things — all these characters know each other, have known each other since they were kids, and as I said up front, I hate POV characters. Then it hit me: collapse all these things on top of each other. Who would be the most interesting character to run the false identity angle on? The main character. Do the gender swap thing because, hey, there’s plenty of gold to mine from that angle. And use that identity as the POV character, so that your annoying Jubilee turns out to be, HOLY CRAP, your Wolverine!

(And it’s a skin-suit because I find morphing to be visually uninteresting. Or rather, it USUALLY is.)
