So it begins.
Drawing this page was kind of a big deal. The main image was drawn on full size comic art board, which I almost never use unless I’m doing cover art for the print editions, and I’m fairly sure I penciled Scwonkey’s expression several times in order to get it just the right level of cocky and confident. See the look on Vanessa’s face? I had roughly the same expression when I took a step back and looked it over. It was done. Our Hero had arrived. And sure, there was some digital rejiggering to get it just so, but by and large, this is one I’m quite happy with. Thank goodness, because obviously the title character’s first full appearance in all his glory is something of a milestone.
