February 21st, 2008
So I wake up this morning and find that the site is down. Like, really down. Like, the entire page has vanished from the internet. *POOF!* And it was about an hour after I finished the new page of story & art, which really ticked me off. I tried to get in touch with my hosting company, but to no avail. Their phone numbers — ALL of them — were busy all day long, and their help desk could only be accessed from inside my account, which required the site to be up & running. Nice!
Consequently, I decided to dump ‘em and move the site to a new host. I spent my entire day off — the roads outside were icy as all heck, so I didn’t have work today, thank goodness — copying data over, once I figured out how to break into my account at the old hosting service. I’d been planning on switching hosting services sooner or later anyway, since the old service’s musty old database software couldn’t take advantage of the most current version of WordPress, which meant I couldn’t use the most current version of the ComicPress template — and believe me, after playing with the newest versions of both all evening, I realize just what I was missing.
But now here we are, operating at about 95% at the new digs. The only thing that isn’t working right now is the Feedburner feed, which keeps insisting that, “The domain ‘www.scwonkey.com’ does not seem to exist.” Right. Well, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. So I set up some alternative feed buttons that may or may not be useful to you. Resubscribe through one of them, and I’ll see if Feedburner decides to play nicer later.
Since this notice comes so quick on the heels of yesterday’s post, which has only been up and running for a few hours off and on anyway, I’m going to reiterate two things:
1. For the next page’s posting, I’d like to take the opportunity to answer a few questions. So everyone, ask away! Ask me anything! Please!
2. If you’d like to give back in any way, clicky-click on the little “vote” button for the WebcomicZ listing site. It’d be appreciated. Not something I’m gonna harp on going forward, but y’know, creative types need their egos stroked every once in a while, especially when they feel like they’re shouting into a vacuum.
And now, I think I’m gonna start drawing that next page. I’ll see you all sometime between Friday night and Monday afternoon.

P.S. Huh. This was the first time I wrote a non-comic post, so I guess I didn’t have to say all that stuff again — it just goes under the earlier post. Interesting.

Hey… no question… page looks good, gonna make a vote!
My commenting is gonna be severely cut down because I’m heading in and out to sea… they are working us up to bring us home… so, I won’t be making my weekly commentary from the peanut gallery. I’ll let you decide if that’s a good thing or not.
