In which Dani takes things rather well, all things considered.

I’m going to admit that I’m still not one hundred percent sure I’m happy with this page, but honestly, this is the configuration and the dialog that makes the most sense to me given the art I completed and the beats that need to be hit in order for everything to work. Building each page and each chapter, to me, is like putting together a puzzle. I have the idea, I draw the pictures, I figure out how to arrange them, I figure out what the characters need to say in order to get them through this page and into the next one (and to drop hints as to where we’ll be going in the coming weeks), and hopefully when I’m done I have something I can be proud of. Sometimes this doesn’t work. Sometimes I wind up tweaking a page for weeks on end, even after it’s been published (bad form, I know, but I can’t help myself). But usually these days I can nod thoughtfully and go, “Yeah, that does what it’s supposed to do.” At least, as far as I’m concerned. Your mileage, of course, may vary.
